Indian
School of Business, Hyderabad celebrating its Tenth anniversary
beginning December 2, has become the first Indian Business
school & for that matter first B-school in South Asia
to be accredited by AACSB International. It has been a long
wait for ISB Hyderabad which had begun the process more than
seven years earlier. The school ranked as No 13 by the Financial
Times London, adds the AACSB accreditation to its roll of
honors. “We are delighted to have received the prestigious
AACSB accreditation, which is regarded as the hallmark of
excellence in business education”, the Dean Ajit Rangnekar
says. The school was a pioneer in introducing an one year
management programme which has not been recognised by the
Indian government regulator AICTE so far. Otherwise, the school
had the highest credentials having been funded entirely by
private corporations, foundations and individuals from around
the world. The London School of Business, Wharton & Kellog
are its associates. academic alliances with the Kellogg School
of Management at Northwestern University, The Wharton School
at the University of Pennsylvania, London Business School

BE
WARY OF UNRECOGNISED ACCREDITING BODIES! Accreditation
takes time and rigour and cannot be given out
by any agency by accepting a few thousand dollars
across the board and also in a few weeks time.
It is
a
strange irony that accreditation, a process
that is to ensure highest form of quality in
the institutions is also a source of big business
for some, prompting regulatory organizations
to declare certain institutions as being unrecognized.
Any accreditation being done with these institution
should be considered as illegal and a complete
waste of money and time. Besides, such accreditations
may also mislead the students. Please

(CHEA)
for updates on accreditation mills.
